Can a roof be replaced in the fall or winter?

Yes. Residential roofs are installed in cooler months all the time. Work is scheduled around rain, wind, and very low temperatures, and materials are installed following the manufacturer's cold-weather guidelines. We'll talk through timing for your specific project.
Is salt air hard on a roof?

Over time, yes. Salt air and humidity are tough on exposed metal like flashing, drip edge, and fasteners, and on sealants. It doesn't mean a coastal roof will fail early, but those details are worth checking, especially on an older roof.
What signs mean I should have my roof looked at before winter?

Missing, curling, or cracked shingles; shingle granules collecting in your gutters; water stains on ceilings or in the attic; daylight through roof boards; sagging areas; or damaged flashing around chimneys and vents. A roof nearing the end of its expected life is also worth a look.
Should I repair my roof or replace it?

It depends on the roof's age, how widespread the damage is, and whether problems keep coming back. Isolated damage on a roof with good life left can often be repaired.
